If you know me at all you know that I am a big Metanoia fan yet I am not really the biggest death metal fan. So, how can this be? Well, first of all Steve Bennett, Metanoia’s guitarist and lyricist, writes some of the best CHRISTIAN lyrics in the scene. He is not afraid to address the issues and he is not afraid to offend to get his point across. This alone is deserving of much respect in a world where Christian lyrics have become so watered down. The second reason I love Metanoia so much is because they actually know what melody is. These guys must be big classic metal fans, because I hear so much of it’s influence mixed in with the grind and blast of these deathly songs. Yes, these guys have it all and "Don’t Walk Dead" is a prime example, right down to the insane vocals. Favorite tracks are "Pain," "Never," "Threshold of the Annihilation," and the Believer-ish, "Reflections." Hey! Did I hear the name "Jesus" in the lyrics? Oh my, what a concept! -Scott Waters

Is it possible for a band to get better by becoming heavier? Metanoia proves that it is! This album is far better than their debut. The new heavier sound makes such an impact. Also, there's progression in both lyric and music writing. The title track is EXTREMELY brutal. To hear the funnier part of the band, check out "Bonus Track", and the softer side, listen to "Reflections", "Grave Beyond A Slave" talks about the Australian aborignals. "Never" is pointed against Catholics. The mix of vocal styles is cool. There's a nifty bass solo on "Can you feel it?" showing what a great bass player Lisa realy is. If you like death metal with a realy heavy sound, you should get this CD right away!
